SWENext Design Lab Pittsburgh is an outreach event for middle schoolers who want to experience the creative and innovative facets of engineering. At SWENext Design Lab Pittsburgh, middle schoolers will participate in hands-on engineering activities led by women engineers and learn what it’s like to be an engineer. There will also be a special event for parents and educators to learn more about engaging children in STEM, exposing them to engineering and guiding them along the path to becoming an engineer. Programs like SWENext Design Lab Pittsburgh are crucial in the effort to encourage more young women to pursue STEM and to ultimately close the gender gap in technical fields.
Exciting opportunities are ahead for girls and women in this field! Go here for more information about this event and check out (and share!) the event flyer here.
The cost to attend is $7. Financial assistance is available upon request.
SWENext is a group within SWE for girls k-12. Go to http://societyofwomenengineers.swe.org/swenext for more information about SWENext.
