Here’s how it works…
* Participating dentists “buy” back kids’ Halloween candy at a scheduled event
* Candy is “bought” with cash, coupons, toothbrushes, creative exchanges
* Dentists can partner with local businesses to give away coupons for food, services, goods, etc. They can give away the Hygiene Kits, they can set up an Opportunity Prize–each kid gets a ticket per pound of candy for an opportunity drawing to win special prizes, etc.
* Dentists then send the candy to Operation Gratitude or other Military support groups
* Operation Gratitude sends the candy to U.S. Military deployed in harm’s way

* Make some AWESOME brownies! Take a standard box brownie then cut up various chocolate, sprinkle the top and stick it back in the over to melt a bit…
* Take a majority of the candy and save it for decorating gingerbread houses at Christmas. This is an easy way to get a lot of variety.

The Pittsburgh Toy Lending Library is holding another Kidstuff Toy and Clothing Swap!!

When: Thursday, November 3, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Where: PTLL - 5401 Centre Avenue
Admission Fee: $10 non-members, $7 non-volunteer members, $5 volunteer members

How it works:
1) Bring your gently used stuff to the PTLL before Nov 1 in grocery bags labeled with your name
2) Pay the admission fee (at time of drop off) and we'll give you a receipt for the swap
3) Come back on November 3, from 7 - 9 pm with your receipt to enter the swap
4) Come with your kids, they are welcome to play while you browse
5) Come without kids to socialize with other thrifty parents
6) Don't forget to swap Halloween costumes!!!
