Date Night

Before I had kids my husband and I always said, "oh, we'll always go on a weekly date, no matter what". Yes, that was BEFORE we had kids.
Then our child was born and 3 months went by and we realized we hadn't been on a date.
Then, when we wanted to go on a date, who do we ask to baby-sit?
Then, we find a baby-sitter and if we pay the baby-sitter then that uses up our date money...

Does this sound familiar to anyone else???!

Well, now we are lucky enough to [ I THINK ] have found a solution. Another family with kids and us will swap baby-sitting and date nights (though it will be once a month!) I hope everyone can find something like this that works for them! And who knows, you may find that other family through our play group. :)

So, here is a unique date night (ok, it's more daytime!) option if you're into music -
The Pittsburgh Opera is proving to our city that high caliber culture doesn’t always have to come with high ticket prices. They are offering the...

{ Playdate }

Our next Momtourage playdate will be on Wednesday, Sept. 23rd.
We're trying to get as many outdoor ones in as possible before the cold weather is upon us! So we'll be meeting at the Blue Slide Playground at Frick Park from 11:30-12:30. If that is over your lunch time, feel free to bring it with you!
*Please note* There is a playground on the corner of Forbes & Braddock as well, but we will be at the Blue Slide Playground. Click here for directions.
Blue Slide Playground
If you are traveling down Beechwood Boulevard and
see lines of children heading down the street with cardboard boxes in hand, you know they’re headed for the Blue Slide. The popular playground at Beechwood Boulevard and English Lane takes its name from the slide built into the rolling topography of the land, but there is much more to discover here. A castle-themed playground occupies the lower level of the playground, ascending to the Blue Slide, and then finally to a climbing structure where kids can see the downtown Pittsburgh skyline.

Diaper Drive

Dr. Heather Starr Fiedler Of PittsburghMom.Com is organizing a diaper drive for the month of September.

I did this last time they had this offer and it was great! It really was absolutely free. However, be warned - they take a LOT of great pics and it is very hard to choose only one pose!
