Pittsburgh International Children's Festival - Exxopolis

Wednesday, May 15th marks the opening of the Pittsburgh International Children's Festival held in Schenley Plaza in Oakland.
Pittsburgh International Children’s Festival opens the door for children to experience professional performing arts. Our vision is to present and promote professional programming for children which inspires, challenges, educates, and stimulate respect for and understanding of all cultures in an entertaining and enlightening way. The organization provides diverse programming which introduces young people to other ways of viewing the world around them. Vital to achieving our mission is making the season affordable and accessible for young families. Pittsburgh International Children’s Festival is presented by Pittsburgh International Children’s Theater, a division of The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
The week includes an incredible line-up of Petting Zoo, Crafts, Face Painting, Al Mazing Magic show, Children's Theatre, Live Music, Weird Eric Magic show, Interactive Musical, Roving Art Cart + so much more! Check out the full line-up here.
Tuesday night my kiddos & I had the chance to check out the very special exhibit of Exxopolis. You will not be disappointed as you enter this amazing art creation lit only by the sun! Exxopolis takes its inspiration from natural geometry and architecture. The completed structure occupies half of a soccer field and rises to the height of a 3-story house! This giant structure will astonish you with its colorful domes and beautiful stained glass effects. This is a work of art that must be seen to be believed! Located across the street from Schenley Plaza in Oakland. Tickets are $5 - time slots are already selling out! Buy online here. {Socks only inside.}
Tuesday - Thursday: 9:30am-2pm
Friday - Sunday: 9:30am - 6pm
